Every love story is unique, filled with moments that become cherished memories. As a photographer, it’s an honor to witness and capture these moments, turning them into timeless pieces of art. Recently, I had the pleasure of capturing one of the most beautiful milestones in a couple’s journey – a marriage proposal.
The Planning
Tavoy reached out to me with his vision for the perfect proposal! He wanted to create a moment that would not only take Melissa by surprise but also be remembered forever.
The idea was brought to life by Orlando Picnic in a beautiful and cozy gazebo and with a scenic view to the lake as the background.
The Big Moment
Tavoy guided Melissa to the spot under the guise of a romantic picnic date. With a hint of nervous excitement in the air, I waited hiding behind a tree with cameras ready to not miss THE BIG moment. As soon as they arrived to the spot, Melissa saw the big questions in the decor and Tavoy dropped to one knee.
The look of joy and love on Melissa’s face as she said “Yes!” was priceless. She kept looking at everything, at Tavoy, the ring… she couldn’t believe it was real and couldn’t stop smiling. From Tavoy’s beautiful words to the embrace that followed and shared kiss, it was a moment of pure emotion, beautifully unscripted yet perfectly captured.
Why I Love Capturing Proposals
There’s something extraordinary about photographing a proposal. It’s the raw emotion, the excitement, and the unexpected reactions. These are the moments where the world fades away and only the couple exists. For me, preserving that raw and emotional moment — the happy tears, the happy jumps, the radiant smiles, the embraces — is why I do what I do.
A Keepsake that Last Forever
After the proposal, I always stay to photograph the couple in a mini-engagement session, allowing them to savor their newly engaged feelings while creating more memories. Whether it was the laughter, the tears, or or the glances from one to the other, every image it’s part of the storytelling.
