The Marriage Proposal Planning

Donavan reached out to me with his vision for the perfect marriage proposal! He wanted to create a moment that would not only take Ally by surprise but also be remembered forever.

The idea came to life in a beautiful, cozy gazebo. With a scenic view of the lake as the background in Cypress Grove Park in Orlando, Florida, on a rainy Monday evening.

The Big Moment

Donavan guided Ally to the spot under the guise of a quick stroll before their dinner date. With a hint of nervous excitement in the air, I waited, hiding in the distance with my camera ready to not miss the marriage proposal. After the proposal, they told me I was very stealthy, YAY!

As soon as they arrived, they walked for a few minutes before going to the gazebo. And then THE BIG MOMENT, Donavan on one knee!

The look of joy and love on Ally’s face as she said “Yes!” to the marriage proposal was so sweet. I was able to capture the first few minutes of that raw and natural moment before she noticed me. She was crying with happiness and couldn’t stop smiling. From the moment Donavan went down on one knee to the embrace that followed, and shared kisses. It was a moment of pure emotion, beautifully unscripted yet perfectly captured.

The rain just made it more romantic, like an out-of-a-movie marriage proposal! At first, we were a little nervous about the weather, but we kept our hopes up. And it turned out so perfectly!

Why I Love Capturing Marriage Proposals

There’s something extraordinary about photographing a marriage proposal. It’s the raw emotion, the excitement, and the unexpected reactions. These are the moments where the world fades away, and only the couple exists. For me, preserving that raw and emotional moment, the happy tears, the happy jumps, the radiant smiles, the embraces. It’s why I do what I do. The biggest reward I receive is the happiness of my couples.

A Keepsake that Lasts Forever

After the marriage proposal, I always stay to photograph the couple in a mini-engagement session, allowing them to savor their newly engaged feelings while creating more memories. Whether it was the laughter, the tears, or the glances from one to the other, every image is part of the storytelling.

And that’s what we did. We stayed in the area and took a few romantic and beautiful portraits.
